Your safety is one of the most important aspects to be aware of when you go caving.

The Grotto is a great place to gain valuable knowledge, and listed below are some very general minimum guidelines.

Don't get yourself into trouble, learn how to avoid situations before they become problems.

  • Always carry three sources of light.
  • Wear a hard hat, chinstrap and sturdy boots.
  • Don't cave alone. Minimum of three people per trip, four is better.
  • Let someone know where you are going and when you will return.
